Saturday was a day of fun and celebration at the Imagine Arts Festival with a 9 a.m. in Jordan’s bar for their 10th annual Booze, Blaas and Banter get-together. Writer’s Weekend, as part of the Imagine Festival, also got off to a flying start with book talks hosted by Eimear Cheasty. We finished off with a special gig performed by local musicians in Patrick’s Gateway to celebrate John Palmer’s 35 years in business in the city.
And so it’s here–the last day of what has been a brilliant festival…and there is so much to enjoy before the final act on Sunday night. Start your day with spraypainting then take a tour of Waterford City to see how our ancestors lived. There’s single and book launches…and do not miss award-winning Dublin folk singer John Francis Flynn in St. Patrick’s Gateway. There’s so much to see and do…so get yourself into town!
More than 15 events throughout Friday had us hopping from venue to venue all over town for culture, history, heritage, drama, poetry, literature and music. Friday’s festival finished with Moonlight Benjamin in St. Patrick’s Gateway…and what a finale it was. Moonlight’s magnetic presence and energy captivated the crowd from the moment she stepped barefoot on stage.
We’re on the second last day of what has been an epic festival and it’s a jam packed schedule this Saturday. Start the day in Jordan’s for the annual booze, blaas and banter…always guaranteed to be a bit of craic. Then add in a bit of art, poetry, music and more…and that’s your Saturday sorted!
The highlight of Day 3 of the Imagine Arts Festival was the Susan O’Neill gig. With her multitude of musical instruments and her amazing voice, Susan and her band wowed the packed venue last night in Christ Church Cathedral.
