As Dad and I traveled on our epic Ireland road trip we just had to stop for a bite to eat. After walking around the wonderful square and seeing what the street vendors had to offer we stopped into The Local. This place certainly didn't disappoint. Crowded with just that locals. The atmosphere was amazing with tons of cool stuff to look at. Including a sign from a pharmacy from a little town in Indiana where my grandfather was born. Quite a coincidence that didn't weigh lightly on my Dad. To top it off the food was great and the staff was wonderful. If you get a chance I would highly recommend a stop by The Local yourself!

The Local in Dungarvan is an absolute gem! The food is outstanding, the hake and monkfish goujons, which were cooked to perfection—crispy, fresh, and bursting with flavour sercved with chips and salad The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed meal with friends or family. Service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who made sure everything was just right.
The prices are very reasonable for the quality of food and service you receive. On a sunny day, the option to sit outside adds to the charm, making it a great spot to enjoy the good weather while savouring your meal. Highly recommended!

Great causal spot for food and drinks. The burgers came highly recommended so we had to order them and my partner absolutely loved them. We meant to order 1 but ended up ordering a second. The fried fish appetizer is like fish sticks for adults which I enjoyed. The prawn appetizer was tasty. If you like dessert, save room for it because you’ll see the case as you walk in and they look amazing. Lots of Indoor and outdoor dining tables.

The food here was savage. Got a really nice juicy burger along with a substantial salad and fish goujans for the kids options, which was also very tasty.
Great location in the square with seats outside for people watching .
Nice Guinness too. But they never gave us the included ice creams for the kids was the only gripe. Apart from that service was excellent with the friendly smiley waitress.
