Great lunch experience here. Very authentic pub and restaurant. Good bar and cozy dining area. The food was tasty and fresh. Service was very accommodating even though our whole party didn’t arrive for another 20 mins or so. Poured a good Guinness. I would definitely go back if in the area. My kind of place.

We stopped in for a snack in the afternoon and had a great experience! We ordered a bowl of beef stew and split this between my wife and I. The beef stew was great! I had a pint of Guinness and it was on point. The place is very nice and has an awesome atmosphere. The wait staff were helpful friendly, and prompt.

Service and pints are best in the city. Staff are very friendly and professional. Coffee is great, tea is the terrible, food is worse. The food looks great until I tasted… nothing. Boiled the sh!t out of all the veg and cut the breast of chicken up for me like I’m 6 years of age. It’s the customers’ prerogative to cut into their own chicken breast! Mash was lumpy. Get a potato ricer! Mash was the biggest disappointment. No taste. If you can’t make mash then you’re a shame on Ireland. The funny thing is plenty of people eat here. I should say the Gingerman is not alone in this regard. Nearly every eatery in Waterford is terrible. The Waterford people have no taste or maybe too polite to say anything. I can understand that because I didn’t want to say anything to the staff about the tasteless food. I wanted to pay for what I ordered and leave. The staff asked, with genuine concern, what the problem was. To their credit they were professional as ever, and did not charge me. Like I said at the start: the bar staff are the best in Waterford city. It’s just a shame the kitchen staff aren’t as good.

Stopped by for a pint and lunch...we weren't disappointed! I ordered the seafood pie (locally sourced fish) and my husband the Guinness hot pot...both were fantastic! And since we couldn't help ourselves, we also ordered a sticky toffee pudding with ice cream for dessert. O.M.G...it was beyond delicious! If you're in the area and are looking for a great place to grab a bite... do yourself a favor and swing by here. You won't regret it! I only got a shot of the pudding...the seafood pie was dug into immediately. Oops!

A very interesting place in the heart of Waterford. It’s a traditional Irish pub with great food and drinks. The portions are very generous, and the prices are quite reasonable for the location. The place isn’t the newest, especially the restrooms, but it has its charm. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We’ll definitely visit this place again!
