Mayfield Birds of Prey

Willie and the birds were just mind blowing. Meeting Boo, Sadie, Mike, Peanut and the others was just a pleasure. Go see them, meet them and fly them, it's just beautiful. It was not looking like it was going to happen due to the weather, but after a leisurely lunch the sun came out and we got to hear, see and experience falconry. I think holding Sadie and having her try to watch Willie all the time and then hiss at me was staggering. Never knew birds had a personality like that, but they are brilliant. Hold Boo, stroke him and see the world through different eyes.

Had such a great time flying the hawks, meeting the owls and learning so much about how they are trained and kept. Really interesting and Willie was super accommodating. Highly recommend 😀

A really fantastic place to visit! Willie, the owner and guide at Mayfield, is highly knowledgeable and entertaining. His enthusiasm and passion for birds of prey really shines through. The birds are spectacular- a variety of different types of owls and hawks of different hues and colours. They all seem to be completely happy, well fed and relaxed to be on show. They're on show for short periods of the day and spend the rest of their time in more spacious surroundings elsewhere, which means the birds don't get tired out or unhappy. It's really worth a trip to Mayfield Birds of Prey. The visitor group sizes are very small and it is excellent value for money. Plenty of time for holding the birds and taking photos too. Enjoy!

Amazing experience, owner had such love for the birds. Great for children, who get to hold these magnificent birds. Would recommended to anyone.
