Right on the quay in Dungarvin harbour stands one of the best restaurants for Indian food I have run across in a long, long time. There is a lovely seating area outside if you wish to eat al-fresco but being a little chilly we went inside. The place inside was buzzing and we thought we might not get a seat. However after consulting their booking list the said they had a table. 😃 We both ordered drinks while perusing the menu and decided on the set meal for two at 37.95e. The starters were huge and we thought that they in it's self would be enough. 😊 However with the craic in the place, pleasant company and a few glasses of vino, we took our time and nibbled away. Time for the mains to arrive and we tucked in. Mine was a lamb madras and the sauce was perfection, spiced just the way I like it and the lamb just melted in your mouth. My companion had ordered a chicken korma which she declared was lovely. She could not finish it due to the large starters and when she was finished asked if the waiter if they could bag the remainder. Not a problem they said. The waiter service was first class and you only had to give them a nod and they were over to see what you required. We had a fantastic time and soon it was time to settle the bill. That done and dusted we were offered complementary drinks. So more wine. 😃. Outside the night had got milder so a nice walk around the harbour whick had lovely lights and the bridge lit up with a 🟣 light. Looked very continental and you would think you were in France. A perfect evening with a nice glow of contentment. Going back as it's a must do.
I enjoyed my dinner here at Indian Ocean just as much as I did in 2019, and the owner and some of the staff remembered me from my last visit - that American woman driving all over Ireland by herself 😀 The mushroom garlic pakora starter was delish, and my main was Kumbi Chicken Tikka - flavorful, perfectly spicy, and amazing. I will return to Indian Ocean next time I’m in Dungarvan, hopefully soon.
Absolutely fantastic place. The service is so friendly and efficient and the process are reasonable Can honestly say the food here is so authentic!!! I have travelled to India 10 times and the food here is exactly like it is over there. I love this place and to find kingfisher on the menu just made my day Well done
Been a while since I was here but will definitely be going back. Forgot my glasses so couldn't see the menu, the waiter arrived with a box with a selection of glasses. Forgot how good this restaurant is
I was very reluctant to come here when I read all the reviews here from Indian/Pakistani people . However I decided to come and spoke to adeel and ordered one lamb biryani desi style . I did tell him I want desi style not Irish style and to my surprise the biryani was 10/10 . I enjoyed it to the max. Highly recommended and staff was very kind .
