What an amazing hidden gem in Ireland. This family owned pub was outstanding. The staff(family) couldn’t have been more welcoming, and the pub was just steps away from some breathtaking sights of the Copper Coast. Engine house is a must stop if you’re traveling through. They even let my friends pull a proper Guinness, their first ever! It was truly the highlight of our time in Ireland!

Lovely locally owned pub. We were visiting from the US and met the owners. Such nice people! A must stop when you are visiting the copper coast! Excellent pints of Guinness, If not the best in all of Ireland!

Spent a fabulous couple of days in Bunmahon, we stayed in the Surf Cottage attached to the Engine House and owned by them.
The cottage was lovely, and a great location for the beach, going surfing, being so close to get warmed up in early spring was a game changer, we had our toddler with us, and bening able to enjoy the beach, playground and everything about, yet get him back and warmed up was great. The cottage is warm, comfy beds and a lovely place to stay.
We ate in the Engine house, again, they were great for the little man, with Child seats and the staff were incredibly nice to deal with. The food was fabulous, can recommend the smash burger and fish & chips. The atmosphere was great and we were comfortable with having the little guy with us, and other families were their too.
The owners were lovely, accommodating and very friendly.
I will absolutely be going there again.

Fantastic underrated spot in Bonmahon. We had been here a couple of summers ago and the food was very disappointing but it seems to be under new ownership and a huge improvement. No complaints but wouldn’t order the chowder again, very sweet for my taste with the amount of shredded carrots, no “seafood”, ie: shellfish, 2-3 very large pieces of fish and no potatoes. Will try soup instead next time.
