Dungarvan Castle Reviews

  • Went in here to get out of the rain. Nice if find that it was free! Spent about an hour exploring the property. Highly recommend a visit when in the area.

  • Very interesting site from the Norman Castle which is under restoration to the barracks and towers. Video very informative at a basic level, of Ireland's historic struggles. Many photos and explanations of the types of 'policing' in force here. Well worth a visit and free. Thank you

  • Great castle, entry was free. The knowledge of the castle and Irish history from the lady at the castle was extraordinary. Highly recommend a visit.

  • There isn't much to do here at the moment as the interior part is closed to visitors. The castle itself is in excellent condition, very well restored and is a lovely example of buildings from that time period. You can pay right across the road. There is a lovely pop up picnic area beside the castle with lots of tables and a memorial wall to those lost in the war just behind.
