Great for the religious services, but also as a cultural hub for Waterford. You can feel the history in this building. The acoustics are great for music.

Simple yet elegant church. Must see the tomb of James Rices, where he designed his macabre tomb before he left for the pilgrim to Santiago di Compostella. Supposedly the famouse wedding of Strongbow and Aoife was held on this site, in the old church that has been built over.

Located in the viking triangle, this is a must visit, to complete the exploration of the area, as this site is where strongbow married Aoifa, an irish princess in 1170.
The church was built in the 1700's in the Georgian style, during our visit we were treated to an organ practise session.

This Cathedral is noted to be a very historic building..Of historic note about this site was where Strongbow tied the knot with Aoife in 1170..the current Cathedral was completed in 1779 and standing inside and outside this beautiful structure is a very special heartfelt experience…it has been mentioned that it may be the finest 18th Century building in Ireland…I spent 1&1/2 hours viewing the many aspects of the Cathedral…
