Came across the gem on a recent trip to Waterford. My friend and I had the most delicious sandwiches, followed by the best coffee and gorgeous pastry. Spotlessly clean with friendly helpful staff made the whole experience a joy. We also brought home the seeded bread which is so light and soft, pistachio cream crisp, Im just glad I'm an hour away from this, its so good, chocolate brioche and a lot more. I'm already justifying the 2 hour round trip just to get more bread, and while I'm there more pastry. Love it.

Went here today for lunch on a rainy day! Overall, I had a great experience with welcoming service from the staff to start, for what I got, the turkey sandwich was freshly baked and tasty with a creamy mayo sauce as well as a crisp turkey, the hot chocolate was the best I’ve had in Waterford so far due to its richness in taste and darkness in appearance. Would very much recommend this place due to its unique Italian vibe, welcoming service and fresh food as well as drinks. Definitely will come back here when I can!

Our new lunch location in Waterford City. Have been generally disappointed with cafes in Waterford, although there are some decent ones. But this little gem is different. They bake their own bread and would be insulted if you asked them to toast their sandwiches. Don't. It is gorgeous and toasting would ruin it. They also baked their own pastries. I'm not a great fan of sweets, but these are just different and I enjoyed it. And to top it off they make artisan chocolate. Feel free to ask for an explanation of how they do it. And the coffee is super.

Wonderful Italian Bakery and sandwich shop. The bread is soooo fresh and the pastries tasty. As a bonus they offer two coffee flavors options . The owners work the counter and talk passionately about their creations a real gem 💎 🙌 👌

Amazing little place with home made sandwiches and sweet treats. As this was my first visit I was kindly guided towards the Stracciatella sandwich by a very helpful and amiable lady. Also had a flat white and a little chocolate coconut sweet treat. Everything was just delicious. I'd happily revisit for the sandwich alone. Easy to see that Berkana are passionate about food and it shows in the quality of what they produce.
