  • Where: Medieval Museum
  • When: 11.30 a.m.

In the Behind Closed Doors Series, the Medieval Walls and Towers – Hiding in Plain Sight is a guided tour with archaeologist Dave Pollock. The tour starts outside the Medieval Museum entrance at 11:30 a.m. and takes a little over an hour.

In Waterford City we are very fortunate to have some of the best-preserved medieval towers and walls in Ireland. They provide a tangible link to the story of Ireland’s first city.

Dave’s archaeological experience in the city has informed the illustrations showing what these walls and towers looked like in times past. This tour will look at some of the walls and towers, their features and the story behind them.

This commission is part of WGOA’s ambition to produce artworks that encourage audiences to think about “What exactly is a portrait? What stories are being told? How best can artists represent people, character, essence, narrative and emotions? What are the differing ways that sound can fulfil this brief?”

This free evening of live music and art features: Cathy Purcell, Gammy Origami, Evan Miles & Cailean Finn, Elle Wadding, Band Of Clouds, Matt Winston, and Morgan Ton.
