The band was set up in 2009 by Paul Butler who was a local singer songwriter with a difference and wanted to create something new. Paul was a member of I.D who were a signed and successful Irish act based in Australia. Paul got the idea for the band upon returning to Ireland and used his experience to put it all together. When the band started it was a 4 piece and grew into a 6 piece in 2011.
Propeller Palms are based in Waterford and perform regularly locally and in various counties around the country. The bands biggest achievement to date is the success and response received after completing The Howard Marks Tour of Ireland 2010-11. The tour was held in some of the country’s top venues including the Pavillion in Cork, Dolans in Limerick, and The Forum in Waterford. Propeller Palms released their debut album in 2011.
