Liam Merriman has been a significant presence on the live music circuit in Ireland over many years. His songs have been released by Polygram Records, RTE Records and the independent Three Rivers label. His work has also been published by Cohesion Arts in America as a contributing writer, and artist on the acclaimed Nashville based 1861 Project. He has made several TV appearances on RTE and BBC and his songs have received airplay and play-listing on national, regional and local radio stations in Ireland and overseas. Other artists recording Liam’s songs so far include Maura O’Connell, Richie Hayes and New Jersey punk folk outfit The One And Onlies.
Merriman, as a singer songwriter, has also toured with, and supported, many major folk acts including Nanci Grifith, Christy Moore, Kiki Dee, Paul Brady and Donovan. Hot Press, Ireland’s leading music magazine, described Liam’s compositions in a four-star album review as follows: “inspired by Gordon Lightfoot and Paul Simon… adding his own contemporary polish and a subtle Irish twist… reinforces Merriman as a premier league songwriter”.
