Note: this review was during their construction. The rooms are basic but what I expect in a European value hotel. We could not adjust the temp, so we felt cold during the stay. The rooms are super clean and tidy. The restaurant is a good value and we used it for dinner and breakfast. The dinner was excellent. We are used to an ordered breakfast, not a buffet, but it was acceptable.
I was lucky enough to stay in, what I assume is, one of their newly decorated rooms on the third floor. It was very modern and clean, which is what I like. I'm no joiner but the quality of the work needs to be checked. Room door doesn't close on its own as the bottom needs planing so sticks on the carpet and the bottom of the bathroom door, which has been reduced in height, looks like it's been chewed by a rabbit animal not worked by a skilled trade. My issues were not with the quality of workmanship, but instead, with the service received. Upon check in, I wasn't acknowledged right away and when I approached the front desk to check in, the individual stood up and exhaled a deep sigh of breath as though it was inconvenientto help. Sorry for asking to check in. At the bar later that evening, I was hugely impressed at the skills of one particular member of the team. Now I'm not going to give any names as this is not a personal vendetta against either the member on reception or the bar staff in question. But, this individual has absolutely mastered the art of looking busy whilst achieving nothing! At first I thought it strange the way they circulated the bar moving a tray from one side to another. But as my second beer was consumed, I became fascinated at just how little they were doing whilst other colleagues were running around trying to run a busy service. At breakfast, I was greeted by a very friendly member of the team who single handedly saved this from being a completely negative review of my time spent there. Again however, this person colleague clearly wasn't a morning person. I said good morning whilst they were cleaning the table next to mine and I didn't even get an acknowledgement. It could have easily been a 5 star review should the team have some more pride, and maybe this is an area for management to look at to improve the guest experience.
Just returned from a 2 night stay at this lovely hotel. Very close to Waterford city. Spacious and comfortable room. Great breakfast and wonderful staff. Special shout out to Millie on reception - a gem with a big welcoming smile. She was so helpful and courteous. We'll be back. Thank you Viking!!
Stayed here for a few days and absolutely loved it! I stayed in room 206 and it was clean and comfortable. Watched the sunrise from my window each morning. Had breakfast, lunch and dinner while staying here and everything was delicious! Customer service, very friendly and helpful. Ample free parking was a plus.
Stayed for 2 nights, staff in reception bar and housekeeping very friendly and helpful, food was very nice and was out very quick, room was super comfortable and was kept nice and warm, very big and nice room for a standard double. Would absolutely stay again everyone was so accommodating I asked for extra pillows at reception and housekeeping was straight up with them. I can’t wait to be back at this lovely hotel, wish I had stayed longer!!!
