The Reg

We arrived in Waterford in a steady rain and after doing a walk-about, decided took for a good place for lunch. The Reg fit the bill perfectly. We were a bit damp and cold and the incredible Fish Chowder and a pint was the perfect remedy. So very delicious!

Fantastic cross of a sports bar and restaurant, the food was excellent the beer was good and the service second to none. They even changed the channel for me to watch Wales win in the world Cup rugby 🏉. This place is well worth a visit, and the interior architecture is worth the visit alone.

Eating is always a favourite thing to do. And there are plenty of world-class restaurants, bars and pubs in Waterford to enjoy. I particularly enjoyed dining one night at The Reg in the heart of the Viking Triangle. This is a huge venue with 5 different bars, each with its own unique character. Apparently, they serve over 80 different whiskeys, 20 gins and 30 types of craft beer. We arrived in the early evening and the place was already packed. But they did find us a table. All the food and service was great! A must try is the Deconstructed Vanilla Cheesecake. It is amazing - biscuit crumbs, berry compote and cheesecake artfully presented on a plate.
