Now firmly established on the music scene, Summer in the City comprises of 3 stages located across Waterford city showcasing the best of local and national talent.
“O’Connell Street are delighted to host a stage every weekend until the end of August, focusing on local talent. There will be DJ’s every Friday and live music every Saturday,” says Claire Murphy, proprietor of Tom Maher’s pub on the street.
“Tom Mahers, Tullys and The Phoenix Yard Market are ready to welcome you to O’Connell Street.”
The start of Summer in the City coincidences with Pride of the Déise festival, which kicks off this Friday (June 2) with the launch at Waterford Gallery of Art at 7 p.m. See here for all the events taking place over the weekend for the festival.
The Block Party in collaboration with Summer in the City kicks off at 2.30 p.m. in the Cultural Quarter on O’Connell Street. It’ll feature Lady Fifi Fondue, DJ’s and live music from Amber and the Bear and Host.
It’s going to be an epic weekend and with lots more to follow with Summer in the City happening every weekend from now until the end of August.
