Shackleton – Don’t be left out in the cold…

Shackleton tells the story of the sinking of the ship Endurance on the Antarctic’s icy Weddell Sea in 1916, and the subsequent escape of the Irish expedition leader Ernest Shackleton and his crew from the Antarctic over a period of eighteen months, finally arriving to safety at the whaling station in Stromness on the South Atlantic Island of South Georgia.

Blue Raincoat Theatre Company’s production “Shackleton” premiered in Sligo at the company’s venue The Factory Performance in the Spring of 2016. It subsequently toured to the Project Arts Centre in Dublin, the Tron Theatre Glasgow and Traverse theatre Edinburgh in the Spring of 2017.
