Waterford Plunkett Station

Lovely wee station, has all the essentials that a station should have, the only complaint is how early the ticket office closes, other than that it was a nice place.

Cold, cramped, draughty and very miserable. The topography doesn't allow for much expansion, but given that, there is no comfort or any attempt at making the place attractive. There isn't even anywhere nearby in which to wait for your train. Some investment and imagination are sorely needed. Does nobody care? The old signal box is wonderful, however and indicates that our ancestors realised that the only way forward was up. I feel sorry for anyone working there.

What nightmare of public planning determined that the outskirts of town was the proper location for the main train station.

I was very lucky to come across such helpful gentlemen as the two I met on Wednesday 13th September 2023 I had had a very senior moment and lost my return ticket to dublin, email confirmation only, both the station manager and the guard could not have been more helpful, they certainly turned my frown upside down, thank you so much
