Waterford Marina Hotel Reviews

  • Just back from a 2 night stay and loved it. Location is pretty, room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean and plenty of hot water in the bathroom. Breakfast was well cooked and plentiful. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We had a meal in the bar one of the nights and food and staff were top class. Would definitely stay again - very pleasant hotel.

  • Rated as a 3 star and I don't understand why - the service, comfort, location and staff are fantastic and worthy of 5 stars. Booked this hotel literally hours before arrival as a last minute substitute to the hotel we usually use when visiting Waterford as it was booked out. Effortless check in and check out. Every part of the hotel is absolutely spotless. Fully kitted bathroom with the most powerful shower I've ever had... I didn't want to get out of it! The room had a superbly comfortable bed with good quality linen and pillows. The hotel decor is lovely - very relaxed atmosphere and the staff are ridiculously attentive. This was our first visit to The Marina but absolutely won't be our last. Nice entertainment in bar on the Saturday night lending to a really nice chill vibe where all people in the bar were enjoying the music and mingling with other guests. Could not recommend The Marina highly enough - it ticks every box.

  • We stayed here for 2 nights over the bank holiday weekend. The location is 10 minutes walk from the city centre and was quite convenient for us. The room was quite spacious and comfortable, but very dated. It’s definitely way overdue for an overhaul. There was coffee and tea, kettle, hairdryer and even a fan in the room. But it was very annoying there were no sockets by the bed, so we couldn’t charge our appliances while in bed. The doors were also not maintained, so they would slam shut VERY LOUDLY and you could hear each room’s door slam over the course of the night. I’m a heavy sleeper but even I felt my sleep was disrupted, and the solution is so simple, just to tighten the mechanism so it won’t slam. The angle of the television was very awkward, up at the corner so it wasn’t very comfortable. For some reason we were assigned a wheelchair accessible room. This meant the bathroom had a strange gate to keep out the water, that didn’t work at all and still resulted in soaked floors. The shower pressure was strong and hot. I was torn between rating 3 or 4 stars, but decided ultimately to rate it a 3 on basis of the poor sound isolation and slamming doors.

  • We checked in late in the evening and even still there was a lady with a big smile welcoming us. Spacious and clean room. Bedding and mattress very comfortable. Clean bathroom with soft towels and plenty of toiletries. Walking distance from city centre and free car parking. We hope to come back soon.
