We were fortunate enough to have our wedding at Waterford Castle. To say our expectations were surpassed would be a massive understatement!
From our first viewing, it was clear that Waterford Castle is a place where attention to detail and excellent customer service are paramount.
Gillian simply is peerless in her role. Her recommendation of suppliers brought us in contact with the most professional, talented vendors. Gillian was always available to us for any questions we had. She definitely guided us to make sure that we were on the right track! On the day, she was so kind and attentive. She liaised with all our vendors which made our day as relaxing as could be.
When we arrived to Waterford Castle for our wedding, ourselves and our guests were so well looked after. Each member of staff was friendly, engaging and professional.
Our guests raved about the food, the activities and the unique surroundings. Antonio in the dining room and Cal behind the bar could not have done enough for us. Antonio even brought my husband a second steak at dinner!
The castle rooms and lodges are spacious and very well maintained.
We had our day two in the golf club which is a lovely space. Stephen could not have done more for us, even bringing a speaker outside for when our music finished up.
We could not be more delighted that we booked our wedding at Waterford Castle and are so grateful to each member of staff who made our day so special!

We went for dinner and it was fantastic. Great service and very friendly staff. The castle was beautiful and the grounds around it. Food was very good. All the dishes and desserts were done very well. For a special occasion this is a special experience.

I received a voucher for afternoon tea at Waterford castle. It was really delicious, excellent service, great choice of teas and the best scones I've ever tasted. Great treat. The castle itself is very well kept and the history is interesting. I thought there were more gardens to view for day trip visit albeit a nature walk. But the grounds are well managed and for golfers it looks like a good resort. Ferry back and forth to island is easy.

Fabulous scenery, kids loved getting the ferry over to the island. We had a confirmation there and food was top quality. We stayed in the lodges and they were great, lots of space etc. Only drawback was we couldnt access the castle as a private event was on there. Our meal was booked in the Clubhouse (but with castle menu) but we were not informed that renovations were ongoing in the Clubhouse & another event was booked in for 7pm. Luckily the weather was nice so we were able to sit outside and have a drink etc

The castle, the grounds and the peacefulness of the whole experience are fantastic and worth a stay. The river walk around the perimeter of the island is fantastic, so be sure to bring appropriate footwear and burn off a few calories so you can indulge.
The evening meal in the Munster Room is worth far more than it costs and really was the highlight for us. The food is very rich and certainly not something you would eat every night, but a must if you are treating yourself. Don’t be tempted to skip dessert - the Granny Smith one is ridiculous!!
The staff are so polite and friendly, whether the locals or the new local Italians! All go above and beyond to make you feel really welcome.
I really would recommend this as an experience that has to be tried!!
A few small negatives….. The breakfast was a little poor, perhaps the low numbers staying made it difficult to suit. A false fire alarm the evening we stayed should have been checked before there was another one early in the morning disturbing what was otherwise a deep sleep in the beautiful bed. The room (Hurst) was very warm and the radiator couldn’t be turned off. The bathroom had some strange noise coming from the pipework when the toilet flushed and only one roll of toilet paper was a bit strange. And I do think we should have been told that the golf club was being renovated and no proper lunch option was available, as the bar was packed for Mothers Day.
