My aunt raved about how much she loves this spot, so I called in for a cocktail. The building is beautiful both inside and out. I loved the elegant art deco feel to it. There was a nicely curated cocktail menu, as well as whiskey, wine, and beer. I had the No. 5 & elderflower, which was fizzy and refreshing. I hope to visit again to dine, as I am sure it will not disappoint.
Visually, a superb example of a traditional cocktail bar with a fine array of hard liquor, liquors, wines and champagne on show. The bar is laid out with seating in cosy little alcoves, an area in front of the bar and a back room with a view of the harbour, boats, sea etc. The selection of cocktail is extensive with more, not on the menu, available to be made to order. The restaurant has a good selection of dishes at reasonable prices and again is tastefully decorated. Haven't seen this place before because I don't live in the area but it is a very appealing setup for me to want to visit. Only 4 Stars because I couldn't eat or drink here on the day but I am looking forward to the day when I can come back and do both.
We celebrated Day 2 of our wedding at The Old Bank. Due to COVID we rescheduled 3 times and it was no problem. Agnieszka was superb and 5 stars don’t do her justice she sourced flowers, served the food and designed our menus she is a superwoman that truly goes above and beyond. The food was fabulous, they even made us a cake which was DEVINE! Lastly the cocktails are some of the best in Ireland that need to be experienced. Dungarvan is our new staycation location with the Old Bank the place to eat / enjoy a cocktail. If they did accommodation we’d never want to leave.
Lovely experience, food was lovely, service was good, a really nice atmosphere, cocktails were fabulous. The wine was quite overpriced. Initially, we purchased a wine which we did not like, so we decided to purchase a different wine which we enjoyed. We paid for the 2 bottles, although we only drank one. Bit of an expensive waste. It's probably our own fault!
Had a meal on 3 Dec upstairs at The Old Bank. Enjoyed our night with cocktails afterwards downstairs. One issue was that the lamb was quite tough, I didn’t bring this to the attention of staff as I was having a celebratory meal and didn’t want to ruin anyones eve. I sent an email to the Old Bank informing them about it but to date I haven’t received acknowledgement or reply despite resending email. I feel for a fine dining restaurant a) the lamb should have been spot on which it was not and b) it’s common courtesy to reply to a customer’s email.
