We were on a long bus tour of Ireland and one of the stops was Waterford. Walking around the town we found the old French Church, built in the mid 1200s but in ruins. Lots of tourists around was a nice bit of interesting history.

Beautiful place... Atmosphere... Ruins of a Franciscan church and hospital. It's amazing that people knew how to build this way in the 13th century. In front of the ruins there is a monument to Luke Wadding, a chronicler and Franciscan monk born in Waterford. Amazing atmosphere, a must see. Near the tourist information in the so-called Viking triangle.
