Jack Meade’s Bar and Beer Garden

Definitely worth a visit,when passing through! Nice walking area,and delicious food served there,and always a cozy and warm atmosphere! We visited good few times already,every time we are near! Had some nice fish and chips there,mashed potatoes with cabbage,and a very tasty seafood chowder,served with hot soda bread and butter! There is also a small castle on the road,just on the other side of the short tunnel,and other old buildings and ice house,just across the stream.

I really love it here but my recent visit was a bit disappointed in the service. We asked for drinks advertised on the blackboard on the counter And clearly see the items to make the drinks behind the counter but we were refused. Food was fine and we had a good night.

Great pub. Had grown a lot since I was last there on my wedding day 23 years ago. Plenty of seats, good TV to watch the Rugby. Excellent food and wide menu for all tastes. Very friendly and helpful staff. Call in if you are in the area.

We spend most Sunday evenings in Jack Meades for our dinner and a few drinks, and we choose Jack Meades for all our family special occasions. The owners and staff are like friends and always go the extra mile. Every menu item is absolutely delicious and my own favourite is the stir fry as you can see from my pictures.
