Always a good pint in here. Super cosy with the fires on and vinyl records playing. Also a snooker/pool table and plenty of seating

There doth be a wondrous tavern, by the name of Henry Downes, where spirits flow and tales do grow! Verily, within its storied halls lies an ancient well, steeped in lore and mystery! Make haste, ye seekers of mirth and merriment, for this place be fit for kings and commons alike!

A Waterford institution. Great pints and great staff. Could possibly be my favourite pub, up there with the greats. Order your drinks, sit down with your friends and while away the hours, then wonder if it would be so bad if ye did this every week for the rest of your days. You cannot put a price on comfort but Downes's is 'the' easy pub you need to experience.

It has been 35 years since I was in Downes (as a student). The memories flooded back on this visit. It's a smashing pub with excellent music, all sorts present and a great vibe.

A beautiful bar on a back street in Waterford Friendly service, great price, extensive selection of beers, blend their own whiskey. Snooker table.
