It’s SprÓg time – Hooray!

Gater Lane are hosting their annual SprÓg Festival over the August bank holiday weekend. Great news for kids and parents!

SprÓg Children’s Festival line-up

Kicking off this Thursday, July 30th until Monday, August 3rd, this year’s well-loved kids festival will be happening ONLINE all through the bank holiday weekend. All events are free too, so make sure to register your kid for whatever takes their fancy. Suitable for kids between 4-12 years with lots of activities and workshops to keep them entertained.

Thursday events

. Far Away Still – a short-film shot during lockdown in Poleberry, Waterford.
• Roots with Curious State Theatre – a collection of interactive songs about the Irish Woodland.
• Shape-Shifting – Maths & Art Mash-Up with Calmast (WIT) – explore the world of both Maths and Art find your own new and colourful ways to enjoy them both!

Friday events

Wishing Stick Workshop with Jennie O’Neill – a simple and colourful workshop where you will decorate your own wishing stick with yarn. Sounds fun!

Saturday events

. Teddy Bear’s Picnic with Deirdre Dwyer – learn to make stylish paper headwear for your own Teddy Bears
Weave a Basket with Jacqui Kelleher aka JKMakes – learn how to weave a small, colourful cardboard basket to store your toys, pencils, or colours.
Colourful Kitchen Chemistry with Calmast (WIT) – use household materials to explore the wonderful world of chemistry in your kitchen.
