Visual artist Shane O’Driscoll specializes in printmaking. His work is inspired by the practice of balancing. A few, precisely placed objects are meticulously positioned against a plain background, ranging from geometric to textured.
Each motif stands out on its own, but it also complements and resonates with others around it, adding a tension or frisson to the song as a whole.
Shane is a member of Cork Printmakers and Backwater Artists Group and has studied visual communications. His artwork has been shown both abroad and in Ireland. The National Gallery of Ireland, Trinity College Dublin, Glucksman Museum UCC, UCD, and the OPW State Art Collection all have Shane’s work in their permanent collections.
