Christmas Scenes in Waterford We’ve All Seen!

Sarah Bowie is a self-confessed Watcher. Even as a kid, she was fascinated by things like people queueing at bus stops, or the little old ladies going for tea after mass. Since moving to Waterford, Sarah has been busy documenting the locals, trying to do justice to their character and wit. Her sketch here depicts Christmas in Waterford--a typical scene!

Originally from Dublin, Sarah Bowie began documenting her bus commute into work in 2017 as a means of passing the time. It quickly became a habit, and her sketches have appeared in The Guardian and The Irish Times.

Keen to connect with other creative people, Sarah founded Waterford Sketchers in 2021, a weekly group that meets every Sunday to sketch around Waterford. New members (including those who have never sketched before) are always welcome.

Sarah is also an author and illustrator, whose fourth book Kevin’s In A Mood is due out in March 2023.
