Shackleton tells the story of the sinking of the ship Endurance on the Antarctic’s icy Weddell Sea in 1916, and the subsequent escape of the Irish expedition leader Ernest Shackleton and his crew from the Antarctic over a period of eighteen months, finally arriving to safety at the whaling station in Stromness on the South Atlantic Island of South Georgia.
Anna is the creator of Modwords and is running Modwords Fest, a very spooky spoken word night at The Parlour Vintage Tea Rooms on October 25th, as part of this year’s Imagine Arts Festival.

Modwords is a writers collective currently in its fourth year and came about at the back of a pub in Waterford. As well as open mic nights all year round, Anna Jordan, Founder of Modwords runs creative writing workshops too.
